Legend of Zodac is my Final Major Project that I created during my third and final year at Plymouth College of Art. It stars Zodac, a plucky thief who wants to steal a gigantic gem, only to run afoul of the very rich cat who owns it. This short is a primarily slapstick comedy production that takes inspiration from the original theatrical animations of MGM and Warner Bros, with their primarily slapstick animation productions and character-based animations during the Golden Age of animation.
This short was created to reflect my adaptation and development of my 2D Animation work throughout my time at Plymouth College of Art and was made to focus on the character animation and humour that I had become known for within the course during my time studying at the college. Originally a game project made as a tribute to arcade productions such as Dragon's Lair and Space Ace, Zodac eventually formed into a full animated short done entirely in 2D hand-drawn animation.
